Valuing community is important

July 3, 2018

Being a part of a community is important. Recently four people we support from Haydock House took part in the PWSA UK’s first ever WalkOver PWS, 4km sponsored walk at Nene Park in Peterborough. This walk was linked to the PWSA Awareness Month and all who took part on the day wore orange Tee-shirts.

The walk was 4 kilometres long on even terrain, in a beautiful setting and was suitable for almost everyone. Whilst also a great chance to meet other PWS families, the team raised over £150. Sam, Stephen, Eve and Jackie were awarded certificates by Karen Wilkinson, fundraising manager for the PWSA for their outstanding contribution on the 28th June.

We’re also very proud of Hayley from Haydock House, her keyworker Tracy, Mum Elaine and Step Dad Paul who completed the first BubbleRush 5k in Wicksteed Park raising over £300 for Cransley Hospice.
