New Purpose Built Supported Living service Now Open!
Upper Park Road is our new supported living service in central Camberley, Surrey which provides a safe, supportive setting for individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, including behaviours which others might find challenging.
The service was designed to provide individualised accommodation and support for up to 11 individuals within one and two-bedroom, modern self-contained flats. Ideal for those seeking a greater level of independence, every person living there will have their own tenancy and a separate support package based on an assessment of their bespoke needs.
For some individuals environmental triggers can lead to raised anxiety and challenging or injurious behaviour that result from sharing accommodation with others. At Upper Park Road such triggers are negated by offering people small-scale individualised accommodation that offers a personalised, private space and a person-centred support plan.
In the centre of Camberley, this service is aimed at supporting younger people, especially those moving into adult life and also those who fall within the local Transforming Care Agenda. There is also opportunity for two people, either a friend, sibling or partner, to flat share together, enabling them to share their life experiences and grow together.
The approach to the design and build was very much focused on providing a calm and supportive setting using sound proofing, underfloor heating, low arousal colour schemes, high frequency lighting and non shiny surfaces to support sensory sensitivities. Individual flats can be furnished and personalised around individual’s preferences and kitchens are fully equipped with all appliances and oven and safety induction hob.
9 self-contained flats (7 x 1 bedroom and 2 x 2 bedroom), communal space and large garden

As well as Upper Park Road, we also developed a residential service Stanley Park Road in Wallington to provide a range of support options across the region. Read more about how a lack of provision meant people with complex needs were “stuck” in non-suitable services and how we were able to rise to the challenge to develop these person-centred settings.
My Life at Upper Park Road – Daniel’s Story
Aged 23, Daniel had previously lived in a residential service where he lacked motivation to do anything and would often sleep all day and refuse to attend his day services. He was also very controlling within the environment and his parents regularly had to collect him from day services as he would refuse to use the transport provided.
Since moving to Upper Park Road and with lots of help and dedication from the support teams, Daniel has achieved so much and has overcome so many goals.
