TV show ‘too good to turn down’ for The Manor

June 9, 2011

Everyone dreams of being on television and for individuals supported by The Manor that dream came true when they got to take part in the filming of a new ITV show.

A total of nine individuals supported by the Manor, as well as support staff, descended on the studio to watch the filming of ‘Sing if you Can’ presented by Keith Lemon and former X-Factor contestant Stacey Solomon.

Everyone had a great time cheering and laughing and got a real thrill out of being part of a TV programme.

Hayley Wilkins, Senior Team Leader at The Manor, is enthusiastic about the importance of such trips to the individuals The Manor supports.

“We see first hand the benefits these trips have for the people we support, as it improves confidence and gives them an opportunity to develop their friendships. Many people expressed a wish to see a television show being filmed and so, when the opportunity came about, it was too good to turn down.”

The Manor in Purley, Surrey currently supports 11 individuals and regularly organises events and outings.

Over the Easter weekend The Manor celebrated by indulging their collective sweet tooth with an Easter Egg hunt and party, with family and friends joining in the fun followed by a trip to Selhurst Park to see Crystal Palace Football team.

Hayley Wilkins said:

“The Easter Party was a wonderful success and I’m always very keen to get friends and family along to help us enjoy such events.”
