Summer Party raises an Amazing £2k
Our Mantra is “Everyone can do amazing things” and that’s just what we did recently at a fund raising event for the PWS Association on the 20th June at Gretton Village Hall.
The event was arranged by Gretton House, part of the Consensus family of Services – which provides specialist care for sufferers of Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), an obesity-related condition, at the grade 2 listed Gretton House. The service has been supporting people with PWS since 1982 and regularly fundraises for the PWSA charity.
The Mid-Summer Party raised £2,273.00. The event was attended by over 100 Gretton Homes colleagues and local Gretton village residents all of whom came together to enjoy the Rutland Big Band play tunes from Frank Sinatra to Adele.
Organising committee member Stu Rowland, who also sings with the Rutland Big Band, said “It was another great night with people coming together for a great cause. The fact we beat last year’s total raising an amazing £2,273.00 is the icing on the cake.”
Karen Wilkinson visited Gretton House on the 3rd July to collect the cheque and said “The PWSA would like to thank everyone involved for raising such a fantastic amount of money.”
