Station Road’s ‘Roadtrip to Blackpool’

June 9, 2011

It was Blackpool or bust as staff and the people they support from the Station Road Service in Kettering took a well-earned holiday in the sea air.

All the sites of the famous coastal resort were on offer as the four support staff and three service users re-invigorated themselves by the Irish Sea.

From sharks to seals the holidaymakers took in the wonders of the marine world at the Sea Life Centre before mixing with the meerkats and lions at Blackpool Zoo. The trip also included a visit to Blackpool’s iconic tower and a musical interlude with a Take That tribute band.

Station Road in Kettering supports seven people and Service Manager, Hannah Thomas feels that trips like the one to Blackpool are incredibly important:

“It was a brilliant trip and everyone had lots and lots of fun. We all enjoyed the chance to get a bit of rest and relaxation after a long winter, and we’re looking forward to more trips this summer!”
