Ramping it up with a Roar from the BBQ
Outdoors activities just got a boost at Station Road in Kettering, Northamptonshire. The residential service has just improved the access from the back of the house to the garden by building much wider ramps. As new wheelchairs arrive better meeting the needs of individuals, the team had noticed that the previous adequate width of ramps was becoming rather tight and beginning to restrict what access routes could be used for activities in the garden.
So, the team made a request to the works and projects team within Consensus to assess the situation and implement a solution. Works completed just three weeks ago and with the weather being so wonderful family members offered to come together, buy BBQ foods and help the individuals celebrate the installation of the new ramps.
There’s a little tidying up left to do but everyone is delighted with the improvements and are looking forward to ramping up the outdoor activities with a little more ease.
Regular BBQs and coffee mornings are held at Station Road and friends and family always receive a warm welcome. Individuals are encouraged to join in all the many other activities including yoga, arts and crafts, drama, music therapy, outdoor activities and any other activities they may wish to try.
