The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout England and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Consensus, a leading provider of support and accommodation for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, are pleased to announce that Consensus Supported Living Service, Norwich Road in Ipswich, Suffolk have been named ‘Home Care Team of the Year’ at the East of England regional finals of the Great British Care Awards 2019.

The winners were announced at a glittering Gala evening, held at the Holiday Inn Peterborough on Thursday, 24th October, attended by over 350 guests. Norwich Road will join other regional winners for the National final held at Birmingham ICC on 20th March 2020.

The team at Norwich Road led by Community Support Manager, Shayne Mills, have worked incredibly hard over the last three years to turn the service round from ‘Requires Improvement’ with the service now rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC.

The judges praised the team led by Shayne Mills for being “passionate, energetic and motivated,” and said, “To receive an ‘outstanding’ rating from the previous, ’requires improvement’, is phenomenal. Zero staff turnover evidences the team’s commitment. Working together, fund raising and completing projects to enhance their service users’ lives is inspirational.”
