Northamptonshire based support manager Michelle scoops top award for Excellence in Leadership and Management

Michelle Christie, who is Supported Living Manager in Northamptonshire, has won a top award this week at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards.

With over 5,500 employees across the group Michelle beat off stiff competition to be recognised with an award for Excellence in Leadership and Management for Consensus, part of the Caring Homes Group. The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony hosted within the Grove Hotel in Watford and presented by musician and singer Ronan Keating.

Michelle, manages over six supported living services in the area which provide support and accommodation for people with learning disabilities and complex needs. These services based from 55 Headlands in Kettering, were also recently rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, the highest rating possible.

Following a review of over 3,000 nominations received from colleagues and people supported for the awards, it was agreed that Michelle was a clear winner, described by many as an inspiration, supportive and approachable.

The judges shared the views of one nomination which stated; “Michelle is a massive advocate of celebrating success and sharing best practices. She has recently overseen services that have achieved an outstanding rating in four out of the possible five categories from CQC. Whilst she passes the credit to the staff team, Michelle’s guidance, passion drive, dedication and overall love for what she does is a very large part of our success.”

Attended by over 340 guests the evening was a great occasion, with colleagues and business partners coming together to celebrate the very best care and support provided by outstanding people.
