Medals for Excellence for two exceptional colleagues
Consensus are extremely proud to announce that two colleagues, Rachel Harrison, Organisational Development Manager and Michele Saunders, Dementia
Training Lead have both been awarded the Medals of Excellence for their work in developing and delivering our City & Guilds Accredited or ILM Endorsed Programmes.
In December 2017 we were invited to nominate both trainers and learners who had excelled in either our City & Guilds Accredited or ILM Endorsed Programmes to be awarded a City & Guilds; Medal of Excellence Award.
The Medals of Excellence are awarded annually to a small number of individuals who have developed outstanding knowledge, skills, displayed versatility, originality and innovation in their role either as a result of attending or delivering training.
This week we have received news that both Rachel and Michele have both been awarded the Medals of Excellence for their work.
Upon hearing the news Rachel Harrison said, “It is very motivating to get this recognition for the part I play in supporting colleagues across the organisation through learning and development interventions. I am looking forward to being involved in a range of projects this year that will further enhance the different opportunities available to our Managers and their teams.”
There were only 59 individuals worldwide awarded this accolade this year, with Rachel and Michele being the only colleagues from within the health and social care sector to successfully meet the criteria.
As lecturers, our nominees were required to demonstrate three essential criteria, being their enthusiasm for subject, outstanding knowledge and skills their ability to champion learning with innovation and originality.
Michele Saunders, is delighted to be awarded with this honour and said; “I am immensely proud and extremely pleased that the innovative dementia training that we develop and deliver within Consensus as part of the Caring Homes Group has being recognised.”

Amongst the wide variety of accredited courses and programmes developed in house, are our award winning, City and Guilds accredited ‘My World’ Dementia Training Programme and our ILM accredited; ‘Future Leaders Programme’, ‘Unlocking Your Potential’ (Operations Managers Development), ‘Stepping Stones to Manager’ and ILM Level 3 ‘Coaching Award’ , which all aim to increase the skills, knowledge and confidence of colleagues, furthering their desire to learn and provide high quality care and support.
