Lynda Proud To Be A Finalist In The Wales Care Awards 2016
Consensus Manager Lynda Wenner at Ty Machen a local care homes in Machen, Caerphilly, Wales, has been selected as a finalist for a prestigious award.
The awards first established in 2003 by Care Forum Wales, seek to reward the champions in the sector and raise public awareness of the vital contribution made by the social care workforce.
Lynda is in the running for ‘Promoting fulfilled lives’ category at the Wales Care Awards. Now 52, Lynda who lives in Newport, has worked in the caring profession for the last 26 years and has been in charge of the specialised Ty Machen residential home for the past five years, she prides herself on the strong family atmosphere she has created there with the individuals they support.
Lynda said: “I feel very proud to be nominated and shortlisted for the Wales Care Awards. I’m also very proud of the service and my team and feel that I have one of the best jobs in the world.”
Simon Kezic, head of strategy and operations (Wales) for Consensus, said in nominating Lynda: “It is her constant positivity, her lateral thinking and a willingness to get stuck in alongside colleagues that has seen the team at Consensus Support putting her forward for this award.”
In her role, Lynda makes sure that a wide range of individuals with varying levels of need and complexities of conditions are provided with the tailored support they deserve. Ty Machen has six en-suite bedrooms for people with learning disabilities including Autism and challenging behavior.
The 2016 winners will be named at a glittering ceremony on October 21, Lorraine will attend the glittering prize giving ceremony at City Hall, Cardiff.
