Getting engaged with our local community

May 31, 2018

We’re very keen at Aldeburgh House to support individuals to live alongside everyone in their community. On trips to the local shops, library or the hairdressers people we support have built up friendships with those that support them. So, we thought it would be a great idea for them to get to know the neighbours and locals they hadn’t yet met. We decided what better way to help them do this than with three things that are enjoyed at Aldeburgh House on a daily basis; tea, coffee and yummy homemade cakes.

Stacey Hayley, Team Leader, Aldeburgh House sat down with colleagues and gained their full support. People supported were very keen to help anyway they could, from making cakes, handing out flyers, to decorating the hall we had booked for the event. We held the coffee morning in a local village hall, although we didn’t get many visitors on this first event the individuals had a great morning and for us that is what it’s all about.
