Staff and the people they support are making plans for the arrival of a family of chickens at Ty Hendy.
The four birds are set to arrive in the next few weeks and everyone at Ty Hendy has been busy making plans for their arrival.
In addition to getting the shed ready for the chickens, staff and the people they support have been mucking in with sorting out laying boxes and getting chicken feed. Caring for the chickens means the people supported at Ty Hendy will develop a variety of skills and the eggs the chickens lay will be used in cookery classes.
Service Manage, Fiona Bush said:
“Everyone one is egg-static about the new arrivals. The chickens will give the people we support a great daily activity, delicious fresh eggs and a real responsibility.”
