Exploring the South East with Grovelands Farmhouse

June 9, 2011

Individuals supported at Grovelands Farmhouse have been broadening their horizons with a number of day trips.

They recently enjoyed a trip to Hever Castle in West Kent, which was originally built in the 13th century and includes a water maze which squirts water at unwary visitors.

This was followed by a visit to see a circus at Edenbridge, with everyone enjoying the clowns and acrobatics; then it was off to the seaside and the sights of Brighton.

On top of this, Grovelands Farmhouse enjoyed an Easter Party and Egg Hunt over the Easter weekend with friends and family.

Manager Karen O’Neill is keen to emphasise the importance of such trips and events:

“All of the people supported at Grovelands Farmhouse receive person-centred support.

“As a result, these trips are a great opportunity for the individuals we support to bond with each other, interact with other people and experience the world around them.

“Everyone loved the trips to Hever Castle, the circus and Brighton, and it was wonderful to get out and about in the fresh air.”
