Event at Lufton College

November 1, 2016

We recently attended a key Transition event at Lufton College in Yeovil, a residential college supports young people aged 16 to 25 with a learning disability and complex needs.

This yearly event offers parents the opportunity to discover what is available to their son or daughter for when they leave the College.  As a provider of services for adults aged 18+ we had a stand at the event, alongside 20 other providers of housing and community support services.

Our Placements Manager was able to meet with many parents to discuss their on-going plans.  This included giving advice about the transition process from a residential educational environment into a residential or supported living adult service and what is involved. This can be a sensitive and anxious time for parents and individuals and it is vitally important to understand the options available and which will best suit individual needs.
