Consensus support the London Borough of Hillingdon
On 30th November, Consensus supported the London Borough of Hillingdon at a Provider Forum in the Civic Centre, Uxbridge. The forum provided a welcome opportunity for all CQC registered care providers located in and /or working in Hillingdon to come together.
Attended by over 100 senior level managers and representatives who provide residential/nursing care, supported living and homecare, the forum provided a mechanism for dialogue and information exchange between the Local Authority and providers.
Providers were invited to showcase their work through ‘stalls’ in a small market place at the event, which offered opportunities for further networking, and sharing of best practice for on-going and improved partnership working.
Belinda Robinson, Head of development and partnerships (South) and Siobhan Gallagher, Placements Manager for Consensus attended the forum and shared information about our support services and accommodation in the London and Surrey area.
There were a wide range of speakers on the day including: Ram Sooriah, of the CQC, Sandra Taylor and Darren Thorpe from LB Hillingdon, Skills for Care and presentations focussing on health and quality assurance. Closing remarks were provided by Tony Zamen, Corporate Director, Adults, Children, and Young People’s Services at LB Hillingdon.
Belinda commented; “It is always very positive to understand Local Authority’s commissioning challenges and future plans. There was a big focus on the day around quality and working in partnership to develop services that are good or outstanding and support people in the local area who have quite complex needs.”
