Consensus’ Registered Manager meets Andrea Sutcliffe CBE

June 29, 2018

Emily Ruiz, Manager of Frinton House near Bexhill-on-Sea, was delighted to meet and spend time with Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, at the Health Plus Care Show in London yesterday.

Emily attended the show with colleague Rodita, Team Leader and seized the opportunity to ask Andrea questions about the Care Standards and how she can attain the CQC’s top rating of Outstanding. Frinton House has recently received a rating of Good across all five Kloe’s.

Emily was overwhelmed that Andrea took the time to respond to every question she asked and delighted that Andrea expressed how clear it was to her that as a Registered Manager Emily is so totally passionate and committed.

Emily and Rodita were over the moon that sharing their testimonies with others at the event was deemed encouraging, as many they met shared that making the jump between the ratings of requirements improvement through to outstanding was exceptionally hard.

Thoughts from Emily on that are that when everyone works together to achieve the same goals it is achievable. She and her team lead, felt incredibly proud yesterday to tell people yesterday about their home and Consensus.

Emily says “I did learn a lot and gathered some information that we can use in the future in our ambition to be the best care provider in the UK and tips on how to maintain the high standards of care and support.

She also found time to become involved in the ‘Storm Care Managers Inner Circle’, which aims to help managers build more confidence in what they do. This group will meet every 2 months and share experiences.
