Led by Gail Fisher our accomplished Lead Behaviour Practitioner with over 20 years’ experience and Mike Ranson, Development Director for Consensus – the workshop considers the drivers for change in provision of care and support for adults who have learning disabilities and may challenge services in residential and supported living. Gail will discuss the safety, efficacy and progress of national restraint guidance and what this means in practise for individuals, providers and commissioners. Gail considers how a Positive Behaviour Support approach, complemented by robust staff training can reduce restrictive physical interventions and translate into meaningful outcomes for support services. As part of NHS England’s Transforming Care Initiative, Mike will consider how providers must deliver solutions for Local Authorities and CCGs on how best to support vulnerable adults with highly complex needs.
