Christian enjoys a day out at the Snoezelen Centre

June 9, 2011

Christian, one of the people supported at Polwell Lane, has paid a visit The Snoezelen Centre, Bedford to try out the services they provide.

The centre offers multi-sensory rooms and soft-play areas for adults and children with learning or physical disabilities. This was Christian’s first visit to the centre and he really enjoyed experiencing everything the centre has to offer.

Centres like Snoezelen benefit the people Consensus supports by providing relaxing and stimulating experiences above and beyond the everyday activities.

Sensory rooms can help people who suffer from anxiety or frustration to relax and can also encourage communication. Through the use of lighting, mood music and sound and smell devices a calm and soothing environment is created.

Christian’s personal favourites were the soft play area and ball pool and as can be seen from the accompanying photograph, he had an amazing time.
