Cheshire House wins ‘Best Specialist Support Team of the Year’ award
Cheshire House in Greater Manchester, has won a top award this week at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards.
With over 5,500 employees across the group the home beat off stiff competition to be recognised with an award as the ‘Best Specialist Support Team of the Year’ in Consensus, as part of the Caring Homes Group. The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony hosted within the Grove Hotel in Watford and presented by Ronan Keating.
Cheshire House is a residential service comprising of eight flats supporting people who have a diagnosis of learning disability and other complex needs. Over the last year the team at Cheshire House have had to overcome a number of challenges. They provide support to individuals with complex needs who have their own challenges daily. Over the last year the support team have worked tirelessly to achieve the best they can for supported individuals and the service.
They work closely together and provide consistent support to the individuals that live there. They receive praise from the local community team and wider professional community.
The team support each other during times of crisis, often staying beyond their working hours, to attend meetings or support an individual to attend an activity that has taken a lot of planning. The team achieved a good rating in all areas recently from the Care Quality Commission, a brilliant achievement and really well deserved.
Following a review of over 3,000 nominations received from colleagues and people supported for the awards, it was felt that Cheshire House provides a real example of how a support team can change people’s lives for the better.
Attended by over 340 guests the evening was a great occasion, with colleagues and business partners coming together to celebrate the very best care and support provided by outstanding people.
