Caring Homes Group, a highly respected care and support provider has been recognised as ‘Large Employer of the Year’ by leading training provider Qube Learning.

The Caring Homes Group (CHG), comprising Caring Homes and Consensus, evidenced significant investment towards Apprenticeships across the business and were presented with the award at a ceremony held at the Montcalm Hotel in London hosted by multiple gold medallist and World Record holder, Colin Jackson CBE.

Over the past year, Caring Homes Group has continued to invest in colleagues’ training, learning and development needs, offering Apprenticeships in Health, Social Care and Business management. Our fundamental aim is to always support opportunity, choice and success and to provide a safe, happy and secure environment for the people to whom we provide care, support and accommodation.

Apprentices Shelly Colson and Lisa McGinn, were both also nominated; Shelly a Support Worker at Holland House as ‘Adult Apprentice of the Year’ and Lisa McGinn of Cotman House as ‘Young Apprentice of the Year.’ Caring Homes Group are extremely proud of their achievements and the commitment they have both shown to their learning and development.

Our Apprentices attend an external training academy, complete shadowing to provide a mentoring service and ensure good knowledge of policy and procedure with colleagues then completing the care certificate within a period of 12 weeks. This ensures there is a comprehensive system of care in place to support people and colleagues.

Speaking about the award Carol Corstin, Training Manager at CHG said “We’re delighted to receive this award. In the health and social care sector its really important to have colleagues who have the knowledge and skills to support people, residents and relatives. Apprenticeships are a brilliant way for them to learn these. They receive thorough training and come away with a solid understanding of how we can provide high quality care and support.”

Joe Crossley, CEO of Qube Learning said: “Caring Homes Group is a great example of how Apprenticeships can benefit employees and those in need of care and support. Caring Homes Group are a business who continually invest in the development of their employees and continue to thrive within this sector.”

The award ceremony was held by Qube Learning, an organisation which is proud to be an OFSTED grade 2 (Good) training provider and works with hundreds of employers across the country to deliver a range of training and qualifications to a multitude of learners.
