Berkeley Farm

June 9, 2011

Eric from Burnham House has been celebrating the fifth anniversary of his work placement at a local farm.

Eric has a real passion for the outdoors and had always wanted to try his hand at working on a farm, so staff at Burnham House got in touch with Berkeley Farm to arrange a work placement.

Located amongst the rolling countryside of South East Essex, Berkeley Farm covers over 18 acres.

The farm sells a wide variety of flowers and plants and one of Eric’s main duties is to grow and tend to the foliage. Eric also cares for the animals on the farm, which include ducks, chickens, rabbits and goats.

The placement has been a huge success for both Eric and Berkeley Farm. As well as gaining a whole host of horticultural skills, Eric has really enjoyed making friends with staff and other volunteers at the farm.

Eric and his colleagues are looking forward to working together for many more years to come.
