We are 94.2% compliant across inspectorate bodies, CQC, Ofsted, The Care Inspectorate Wales and The Scottish Care Inspectorate for residential care (Figure stated as at November 2017)

“Across England over 90% of our residential services are currently rated as good and indeed two of our supported living services are rated as outstanding. We felt the inspection was positive and so to receive the rating that we did was disappointing.

We thank the CQC for their report and have accepted its findings. In the three months or so since the start of the inspection process we have continued to work on many improvements, which, in line with CQC recommendations, have included consistently maintaining levels of available to support people’s holistic needs, particularly during periods of annual leave and ensuring training and audits meet both Consensus’ and the CQC’s high standards and we recognise there is still much we can do.
We are pleased that the CQC identified some of our areas of practice as being good including; Supported individuals receiving care from a team that knew them well and who were kind, compassionate and respectful, developing positive therapeutic relationships along with detailed person-centred plans.

Nothing is more important to us than the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support, and the report recognises that the service is both caring and effective, rating it ‘Good’ in both categories.

We are pleased that CQC identified that Station Road House is caring stating that ‘Relatives spoke positively about the care their family member received’ noting that staff were kind, compassionate and respectful in their approach and that people’s dignity and privacy was respected.

People supported said that they felt safe living at the service and CQC noted this to be the case, sharing that there were sufficient staff available to keep people safe.

CQC also noted that people who used the service were actively involved in making decisions about their daily care and support and witnessed that Colleagues sought the consent of people in the planning and delivery of their care and that the team adapted their approach to meet people’s individual needs ensuring that care was provided in a way that met their particular needs and wishes.

The team at Station Road House are committed to every aspect of the service we provide being at a consistently high level and look forward to evidencing the many improvements they have made when CQC next inspect the service.”
