The individuals we support may also express behaviours which others might find challenging. Situated in the pleasant Essex countryside, Rowan House has six bedrooms across two floors.

There is a nurturing, caring, positive environment with a real home from home feel. The team ensure a flexible and proactive approach and are dedicated to meeting the needs of the individuals they support. Many have worked at the home for a long period of time and are also very supportive of their colleagues as well as the people we support.

The focus is very much on inclusion and enjoying interests. Person centred goals and achievements, big and small, are always encouraged as is greater independence and choice on a daily basis. Individuals are encouraged to do as much as possible for themselves in all aspects of daily living such as cleaning and shopping, to increase confidence and support greater independence.

Lots of activities take place within the home including baking, arts and crafts, music, discos and sensory play. With good transport links and transport facilities on site, the team also support individuals to enjoy local leisure activities which match their interests and goals such as swimming, trampolining and attending the local college.

Support plans are regularly reviewed to ensure that people are living their life in the way they wish to and enjoying activities of their choice.

Visits from family and friends are actively encouraged.
