Little Smugglers benefits from a semi rural location but with easy access to the large town of Crawley and its many shopping and leisure amenities. Good bus and train links close by offering plenty of opportunities to get out and about. Individuals attend local social clubs in the day and evening, meeting new friends and having fun. They are also involved in the planning of events at Little Smugglers such as festivals, afternoon tea and BBQs where family and friends are always welcome.
Some of the people at Little Smugglers may also have behaviours which others might find challenging and will receive specialist support and personalised strategies from our Positive Behaviour Intervention Team.
Encouraging greater independence is a key focus. Individuals are supported in managing daily living skills and everyday tasks and have their own areas of responsibility in the running of the home such as menu planning and cooking.
The team always support them to try new things like going on holiday or pursuing a course of interest at the local college.
Achievements and successes are always celebrated and one individual was supported to fulfil their dream of doing a sky dive.
