Blakeney House in Westcliff on the Essex Coast provides a spacious home from home residential setting for individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities. Some individuals may also have physical disabilities.

There are ten spacious en-suite bedrooms decorated to suit individual tastes and preferences; four are on the ground floor and six are on the first floor, accessible via stairs or lift. There is plenty of communal space and a large, well maintained and secure garden which can accommodate social events, outdoor activities and eating alfresco.

Blakeney House is in a quiet residential street, but just a 5 minute walk from the town centre, sea front and all the local amenities. There are good rail and bus links nearby and a house vehicle with wheelchair access to support individuals to enjoy person centred activities of their choice in the local and wider community. There are also excellent links into London.

The team are friendly, caring and positive. The focus is very much on supporting people to live their life in the way they want to, to grow in confidence and achieve the goals that are important to them.

The team have strong links with the local community in Westcliff and nearby Southend; providing opportunities to attend local colleges, drama groups, leisure centres and places of worship.

Family and friends are always welcome to visit and join social events, including the annual summer party.

Everyone living at Blakeney is encouraged to participate in the day to day running of their home to gain confidence with daily living skills such as menu planning and cooking.
