As a provider, Consensus is committed to supporting people to increase their independence, live fulfilling lives and actively participate in their communities. Our approach to quality is embedded in working together with individuals, their families and other professionals to design and deliver the best quality of support we can. Our continuous improvement approach will positively impact on outcomes which meet the needs of people already living in our services and new people coming into our services and satisfy our regulators.

Quality and Compliance Director
I have been working in health and social care for 35 years and have held senior roles in a number of national organisations providing housing, care and support for people with learning disabilities as well as mental health challenges. As well as leading culture and quality improvement programmes, I have worked for the Care Quality Commission as Head of Registration.
I am driven by a passion for human rights and the right of individuals to make choices about their lives. I love being instrumental in shaping and implementing improvements that lead to positive outcomes for the people we support.
Here at Consensus, I’m proud to be part of an organisation that puts supported individuals at the heart of decision-making and is truly focused on quality and enabling positive outcomes for people. Consensus is known to provide good, safe, person-centred services; my job is to help make sure that we continue to improve as Consensus grows.
Outside of work I… try to keep fit by walking and swimming. I love reading novels and catching up with my two daughters and their lives: one is a teacher and the other an actor.

Best Practice and Operational Support Manager
I have worked in social care since 2000 and have worked at Consensus since 2015. Before that, I managed an older people’s residential home and was a Quality and Compliance Coordinator in older people’s care.
My role here involves ensuring that the right systems, processes and management teams are in place to maintain a safe, effective and reliable service. We strive all the time to deliver the highest quality support to the people who use, live and work in our services. One of the best parts of working at Consensus is seeing a person we support achieve something they’ve not done before and seeing how proud they are.
I’m very proud myself of some of the things I’ve achieved in my role here. As well as building a successful team of Quality Checkers who report in to me as their Line Manager, I sit on the Best Practice Group and have been involved in reviewing and updating the support plan template. I’ve also been involved in implementing the new keyworker system.
Outside of work I… enjoy keeping fit. I go to the gym several times a week, including Zumba and spin classes. I’ve also recently rediscovered ballroom and Latin dancing.

Operational Support Co-ordinator
I have worked in the care industry since 2017 and I joined Consensus in 2018 as an Operational Support Administrator. My role involves monitoring compliance, ensuring that the correct processes and requirements are being followed, and producing reports for the senior management team.
It’s great to talk to the people we support and see their achievements first-hand. At Consensus we listen to individuals’ needs so that we can encourage and support them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
It brings me huge satisfaction knowing that the work we do is helping to make positive changes to people’s lives, enabling them to enjoy more opportunities and a better quality of life.
Since being part of the Consensus team, I’ve been able to complete an apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 3. I achieved a Distinction which I’m very proud of.
Outside of work I… enjoy paddle boarding, yoga, visiting new places and socialising with friends.

Quality and Compliance Analyst
My role involves looking after the quality feedback questionnaires and completing various reports and tasks for Consensus services. Keeping on top of the staff/family and stakeholder feedback is a big job given the number of services we have.
When I joined Consensus I’d had a long time out of the work environment. I’ve learnt a lot of new things working here, and I’m continuing to learn all the time! I get a great sense of achievement hitting deadlines and designing new reports, processes and questionnaires.
When I read the family feedback that we receive, most relatives are so grateful for the care their loved one receives. They often refer to the service team as being like family. I’m proud of the way Consensus makes a difference to individuals by enabling them to make choices and be themselves. Our caring service teams have their best interests at heart.
Outside of work I… enjoy looking after mine and my daughter’s horses. My daughter competes regularly in show jumping and we are often away all weekend at competitions.

Quality Support Director and Safeguarding Lead
I have worked in adult social care, supporting people with learning disabilities, since the mid-1990s. I started my career as a support worker in an assessment and treatment centre for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. I’ve enjoyed very varied roles.
Early on, I supported the closure of a ‘long stay’ hospital and helped to manage a day opportunities service. In more recent times I have been an Operational Manager, Regional Manager, and Head of Health, Safety and Compliance for a national provider, introducing systems and processes to support Directors and Registered Managers with compliance and best practice. I was also the national Safeguarding Lead undertaking complex case reviews and investigations. Here at Consensus, as Quality Support Director I work with the Quality and Compliance Director to support with the implementation of the Consensus Quality strategy, building on great services and a culture of continuous improvement. As part of this role I am also the Consensus Safeguarding Lead supporting the organisation to protect and empower supported individuals.
Outside of work I… love spending time with my family, being outdoors in my garden and caring for my many animals. I love horses and horse racing – and holidays in hot countries!

Quality and Compliance Lead Auditor
I’ve worked in the care sector for 20 years – I started in health and social care supporting older people and those living with dementia before moving into a Registered Manager role supporting people with learning disabilities. In 2014 I became a Quality Assurance Lead.
I feel passionately that people with learning disabilities should be supported, listened to and valued, and I love that, in this challenging and stimulating role, I can play my part in making a positive difference to their lives. With a focus on quality, you can design and implement systems that are instrumental in ensuring a high standard of care and better outcomes for the people we support.
While the environment at Consensus encourages ambition and growth, both for colleagues and the individuals we support, it’s important to remember that the little achievements are often as satisfying as the big ones. For me, success is when an individual we support feels content, safe and engaged in their life and the service they live in.
Outside of work I… enjoy gardening, cooking and spending time with my family.
Quality Improvements and Projects Manager
The Quality Improvements and Projects Manager will take a lead role in the scoping, implementation and management of the continuous improvement programme that supports Consensus Support’s aspiration to provide the best quality support and care to people with learning disabilities, autism and additional complex needs. Reporting to the Quality and Compliance Director, this role will take responsibility for developing project management processes, documentation and governance as well as ensuring the delivery of identified projects and initiatives to agreed timescales, budget and scope.
Our Quality Checkers Team
We think it is important that individuals living within our services can share their views and talk to someone about how they are feeling about the service provided. Our team of Quality Checkers are employed and paid by us to do just that.
Consensus is committed to delivering the highest levels of support to the individuals we support, to their families and to the commissioners we work with. We have robust policies and procedures in place. These include clinical governance procedures and policies to safeguard our high standards and continually improve and enhance what we do. Our Continuous Improvement Group promotes this across our organisation.
