Our Referrals Team is here to help find the right service, whether the enquiry is from someone searching for themselves, a family member looking on behalf of a loved one, or a commissioner with a specific requirement. We always aim for people to live in services closest to their friends and family, but what’s most important is that they have the support and environment that’s just right for them. That sometimes means that their nearest Consensus service isn’t the one most suited to their needs.
Our Referrals Team are highly experienced and knowledgeable about our services and the people we support and will work collaboratively with individuals we support, family members and commissioners to find the right solution.

Referrals and Partnerships Manager (East of England)
I have over 10 years’ experience in the care sector, predominantly within adult residential care. My background and practice includes working with individuals with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, severe behaviours that challenge and complex needs.
I have worked in a number of dynamic roles, from Nominated Individual to Head of Safeguarding, Operations Improvement Manager to Registered Manager. I am extremely passionate about providing the highest quality person centred care which is tailored to meet every individual’s needs.
I wanted to work for Consensus because of their strong values, innovative approach and passion to deliver the very best tailored care, which mirror my own personal principles.
Outside of work… I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, travelling – especially visiting my home country of Scotland. I’m also an avid Manchester United fan (for my sins!) and I continue to support mighty Celtic FC all the way from England!

Referrals & Partnerships Manager (North & Wales)
I have worked within the social care sector for 15 years within forensics and extra care supporting individuals with highly complex needs, autism, severe challenging behaviour and dual diagnosis, who require supervision through the Ministry of Justice. I have also worked with people with acquired brain injury, dementia, and genetic conditions such as Fragile X and Prader-Willi Syndrome, helping to recruit, manage and retain the right staff to support them.
My previous role in business development included helping to set up new services in the West Midlands for people with complex needs, learning disabilities and mental health issues. I have a lot of experience in generating referrals, undertaking assessments and producing service proposals which ensure the best outcomes for the individuals requiring support.
Quality assurance has always formed a big part of what I do too: monitoring compliance and regulatory standards, contractual obligations, policies and procedures and promoting best practice around safeguarding.
Outside of work I… enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching football and listening to music.

Referrals & Partnerships Manager (London & South)
I used to work in human resources, but I wanted a role where I could help people to make their lives better. Since moving into social care, I’ve worked my way up from support worker to service manager, and now placement manager. Most of my experience has been in supporting people with autism, complex needs and challenging behaviours.
I joined Consensus in 2018 as a service manager, before moving to the Referrals team. I’d been part of the assessment process in other roles and had thoroughly enjoyed visiting people, assessing their needs and skills and exploring ways to support them.
Much of my role involves undertaking in-depth assessments and producing proposals. I also liaise with a variety of stakeholders, from social workers to private referrers and individuals, discussing support and care needs and how they can be met.
Outside of work I… enjoy going to the theatre, singing in a choir, keeping fit and socialising.

My career in social care began in 1990 at Gretton House when I started as a Support Worker. By the end of the decade I had worked my way up to Registered Manager, where I remained until August 2020 when I joined the Consensus Referrals team.
As an organisation we’re known for our strong values and quality services, and I’m passionate about working collaboratively to improve people’s lives by finding and securing the right service for them – one that will enhance their life and opportunities. It brings me huge satisfaction to see the people we support living happy and fulfilled lives.
I enjoy building relationships and working with individuals, families, stakeholders, colleagues and commissioners to explore and secure the right service to meet people’s needs and enhance their life. It makes me very proud when a person I’ve supported through the stages of enquiry, referral, assessment and proposal successfully moves into a service and thrives in their new home.
Outside of work… I enjoy reading, walking, spending time with family, and fitting in as many weekend breaks and holidays as I can manage – both in the UK and abroad.

I have worked in social care since 2008. I’ve been working for Consensus since 2010, including seven years as manager of Deansbrook Farm in Essex, a residential service for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. It was a great experience leading the team at Deansbrook. I expanded the service and over the years we produced some great outcomes for the people we supported, including individuals with complex and challenging behaviours.
As Referrals and Partnerships Manager I’m continuing to support people to make positive changes in their lives. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than delivering effective person-centred care that enables the people we support to achieve their goals
Outside of work I… enjoy travelling, cooking, spending time with friends and family, going to cricket, rugby or football matches (I support Southend United) as well as music gigs and festivals.

My background is in the charity and care sectors (I used to be a care giver, working with older adults), and I’ve also worked in administrative roles across different industries. Here at Consensus, I’m the first point of contact for families, individuals, local authority and healthcare professionals who wish to make an enquiry or referral into Consensus services. I feel very satisfied when I speak to a family member and can reassure them that help is out there.
I work with my colleagues on the Referrals team to provide a service that will meet the person’s needs and enable them to thrive. It’s a great feeling to see an admission planned for someone who I have helped through the enquiry process. When I visit our services, I can tell that our colleagues care deeply about providing person-centred care. I’m excited to be part of a team that is helping vulnerable people to find their voice and live life to the full.
Outside of work I… read a great deal and write poetry, and I enjoy playing badminton and squash, and raising money for charities via sponsored runs.

I’m proud of the fact that I started my career as a Support Worker and have 20 years’ experience supporting people with a learning disability, autism and complex needs in a variety of settings. Over the years I’ve developed my experience and moved into more senior roles including Development Manager, Service Manager and Operations Manager.
Taking a person-centred approach is crucial to ensuring the best outcomes for the people we support. I have always worked in a person-centred way, whether I’ve been involved in operational and strategic management, commissioning and re-structuring services, delivering training, or managing supported living, domiciliary or residential services.
I’m excited to join the Referrals team at Consensus, supporting colleagues to develop services and provide high quality support options to people with a learning disability, their families and stakeholders. I enjoy meeting new people and it’s a privilege to create bespoke support packages to help people achieve their goals.
Outside of work I… enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, discovering new places – and I’ve recently discovered fishing.
