Our team take a hands-on approach, working collaboratively with operational and development teams across the business and challenging fresh ways of doing things. They listen to the individuals we support, their families, and the needs of commissioners. Then they work together to develop forward thinking services that satisfy individuals’ needs while delivering excellent value.

Eddie Morgan

Managing Director

I’ve worked in the social care sector for two decades now, having started my career as a support worker. I greatly enjoy the challenges that the sector offers and I thrive on the opportunity to help transform lives.

I believe in getting to know an organisation from top to bottom, and maintaining a ‘hands on’ approach and attitude is vital for so many reasons, from understanding a team’s challenges to planning effectively for the future.

I am an advocate of a seamless structure and effective communication across all our teams. I believe that only then can we share best practice and learning as an organisation to give our very best to the people we support.

I’m very proud of the many things we have supported people to achieve, and I’m proud of the people who work for Consensus. I’m delighted that our efforts and successes are being recognised nationally.

Outside of work I… play taxi to my three daughters, socialise with friends, play badminton or watch Celtic FC.

Tony Pickering

Commercials Director

I trained as an accountant and initially worked in the transport industry. But for the past 15 years I’ve worked in the health and social care sectors, with over eight here at Consensus. I lead on all the commercial and business analysis aspects, which sees me working with colleagues across the business.

The learning disabilities sector is ever-changing and has its challenges but it’s rewarding to work with the Consensus team to solve them, and I look forward to that every day.

Outside of work I… can usually be found at a swimming pool (I am a long term ‘swim dad’) or cooking things on the barbecue for my ravenous children!

Anja Carter

Head of Human Resources

I’ve worked for the Caring Homes Group since 2008. I joined as an HR Advisor before becoming Senior HR Business Partner, then Head of HR for Consensus. During my career, I have worked across the private and public sectors, including an NHS Primary Care Trust, so I’ve provided strategic support to colleagues at all levels, from operational managers to members of senior management teams.

In my role it’s vital to be able to handle sensitive information and sensitive issues in line with policies and regulations. A calm, professional approach is also important in situations that can be emotionally fraught. I’m proud to have been a member of the Senior Management team since 2014, representing the areas of Human Resources, Learning and Development and Recruitment.

Outside of work I… love spending time with my husband and young son, planning holidays and enjoying days out. We recently moved back to Colchester from Bristol so we’re enjoying rediscovering Essex and Suffolk again.
