Station Road Rated Good By CQC

April 6, 2016

Station Road, who specialise in supporting adults with a learning disability and a range of complex needs, in Kettering, Northamptonshire, have been rated as ‘Good’, according to its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Station Road was praised by inspectors, for providing a safe, effective, caring, and responsive service.

The report said: “Care plans were written in a person centred manner and focussed on empowering people; personal choice, ownership for decisions and people being in control of their life. They detailed how people wished to be supported and people were fully involved in making decisions about their care. People participated in a range of activities and received the support they needed to help them do this. People were able to choose where they spent their time and what they did.”

The report continued: “People appeared relaxed and comfortable in the company of staff and two people who were able to communicate with us said that the staff treated them well. One person said, “I like living here. Everyone [the staff] is nice.” A comment received from one relative said, “Lovely friendly home – fantastic staff.” The home had a positive and welcoming environment which supported people in a caring way.”

Andrea Adams, Manager at Station Road, says: “The team are all extremely happy at the praise we received from inspectors in the report following their visit to Station Road in February 2016. Station Road is always a very homely and positive place to be and the care and support given to the people we support helps them to achieve really good outcomes, involving families and external professionals, I am very pleased that the CQC rating now matches the care and support and fantastic relationships between people we support and the staff team that I see every day.”

Station Road specialises in providing accommodation and support for up to eleven people with physical or learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder. Support is tailored to the needs, goals and aspirations of the individual so that they can live a meaningful, fulfilling life of their choosing.
