Pauls visit to the Mayor

October 20, 2017

On Tuesday 26th September Paul, a supported individual, accompanied by colleagues from Links, visited the Mayor and Mayoress of Wellingborough in their chambers at Swanspool House.

Paul presented them with a paint by numbers of a bear that he had completed for them, to have on show in their parlour whilst in their term of office and then for them to take to their own home after the year.

The Mayor and Mayoress were very pleased both with the painting and the frame that Paul had chosen himself for the painting to be displayed in.

He thoroughly enjoyed his time in the Mayors’ chambers and talked to them about his life. He then had his photograph taken by the Mayors press officer and gave a short statement about his painting for a report to be placed into the local newspaper.

Whilst we were there Paul was also lucky enough to meet the Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire who had an engagement after us with the Mayor. Paul was very pleased to meet him and was amazed by his uniform.

Paul has said that he really enjoyed his time with the Mayor and Mayoress and by presenting them with the painting it made him feel good about himself and he said that the Mayor encouraged him to complete some more of his art work.
