Paul’s passion for fundraising helps local hospital
One kind-hearted individual who is supported at Moor Lane has recently raised yet more money towards a vital piece of equipment for the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Paul Harris, who works at his local Waitrose supermarket, encouraged the store to raise funds for the charity ‘Above & Beyond’ through its green token boxes and ended up raising a tremendous £436.
Above & Beyond fundraises to improve the local hospital environment, fund innovative research, support and train hospital staff and provide state of the art equipment. These things all go above and beyond what the NHS can provide, to make hospitals better and make patients more comfortable.
Paul has now raised a total of £1,256 for the charity, which is being used to help purchase a reclining chair to help patients with mobility problems on Ward 15.
In a letter from Above & Beyond, the organisation paid tribute to Paul’s commitment to the fundraising, saying; “We cannot thank you enough for helping us to continue to make our Hospitals even better.”
