Expanding Horizons at Farnshawe Adult College

June 9, 2011

People supported at Burnham House in Essex have been developing their skills through a series of courses at Farnshawe Adult College. The College provides a wide range of full time and part time, day and evening courses for adults at venues throughout Barking and Dagenham.

Service users got to choose which courses they thought would be most interesting and have been supported to attend classes.

Amongst the people who have been gaining confidence and skills from the sessions are Julie and Phillip.

As someone with a real creative flair, Julie chose courses including Flower Arranging and Movement to Music. She has really loved learning new skills and having the chance to make friends and develop her hobbies.

Phillip has a head for numbers, and he chose to enrol on Maths and Information Technology courses. Since beginning these classes, Phillip has excelled in mathematics, consistently passing tests with flying colours.
