Charity fun day at The Pines
The Pines opened its doors to the local community in aid of Help for Heroes this week, hosting a military-themed fun day in aid of Help for Heroes.
The Fornham St Martin service was awash with camouflage as guests took part in a host of games and activities including ‘Guess the weight of the Torpedoes’ and ‘Shoot the Staff’. Thankfully with an ice cream stall and homemade cakes on sale, there was plenty of sustenance to keep everyone’s energy up for the action-packed afternoon.
The ‘Sunday fun day’ has become a regular fixture on the calendar, with the service users choosing a different charity each year to raise money for, whilst having plenty of fun in the process!
A highlight of this year’s event was St Edmundsbury Mayor Robert Everitt presenting the service with a certificate marking its contribution to the wellbeing and life of the borough, recognition that all of the staff and service users were rightly proud of.
